Workshop on Faith, Advocacy and Missions Planned for Oct. 13

            The Office of Propagation of Faith and Missions and the Office of Social Action/Catholic Relief Services of the Diocese of Youngstown will sponsor a covenant planning meeting on Saturday, October 13, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The event will be held at St. Columba Parish Hall, 154 W. Wood Street in Youngstown.

            This workshop will feature Father Thomas McQuaid of Catholic Relief Services Regional Office in Chicago. The topic is Missionary Advocacy for Social Justice. Parishes with a Mission Outreach in the Diocese of Youngstown are asked to send at least two representatives. Other parishes considering mission exchange are welcome. Parish representatives will benefit from this interactive presentation and the insights discussed.

           Father McQuaid has been a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago for 33 years. He served as a Priest Associate with Maryknoll, ministering primarily in Kenya for seven years. His experience also includes serving in Costa Rica and Bolivia. He received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.

            Continuing Education units are available, two units for the session. Sign up for the credits at check-in that day.
