Two Priests Receive New Pastorates

              Bishop George V. Murry, S.J., Bishop of Youngstown, has appointed two priests to their first pastorates.

            Reverend Martin Celuch is appointed pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Youngstown, effective May 1, 2013. Our Lady of Sorrows is the name of the merger of St. Matthias, Sts. Cyril and Methodius and Holy Name churches. Reverend Brian Cline is appointed pastor of St. Barbara Parish in Massillon, effective July 1, 2013.

            Father Celuch was born in Slovakia and ordained for the Archdiocese of Kosice in the Slovak Republic on June 14, 2003. His seminary studies took place at St. Charles Borromeo in the Slovak Republic and St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Father Celuch has served as associate pastor at St. Nicholas Parish in Struthers and Holy Family Parish in Poland. He was named an assistant in the diocesan Office of Canonical Services in 2007. Following Canon Law studies at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., he was named a judge for the diocesan Tribunal and a member of the Board of Conciliation. Father Celuch was incardinated into the Diocese of Youngstown in 2008.

            Father Cline was ordained May 29, 2010, following seminary studies at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He currently serves as associate pastor at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Canton, and is a member of the diocesan Priests’ Personnel Board.
