Job Opening: Editor/General Manager for the Catholic Exponent

The Diocese of Youngstown is seeking an Editor/General Manager to oversee the Catholic Exponent, the diocesan newspaper, in all phases and to ensure smooth operation of all its departments. Particular emphasis on editorial duties and other functions as General Manager.

 Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, theology or related field; Master’s preferred; at least 3-5 years’ experience as editor of a diocesan newspaper, or religion editor of a daily newspaper with experience reporting on Catholic teaching/issues. Thorough knowledge of Church teachings and full commitment to the mission statement of the Catholic Exponent are necessary. English language and computer literacy skills, as well as ability to communicate with staffers and display leadership qualities are necessary. Understanding of and skill in use of social media platforms a must.
