Notice of an Administrative Opening for

Superintendent of Catholic Schools

Diocese of Youngstown, Ohio

 The Diocese of Youngstown, Ohio, is currently accepting applications for the position of Superintendent of Catholic Schools. The Superintendent of Catholic Schools reports to the Bishop of the diocese and is a member of the Bishop’s cabinet. The Superintendent of Catholic Schools serves as the chief school administrator providing day-to-day advice and consultation to pastors, presidents, and principals; provides guidance and direction on long and short-term planning, budgeting, financial, instructional standards, contract and staffing issues. The superintendent oversees the two-tiered governance structure of the Diocesan elementary and secondary schools.

Applicant must be a practicing Catholic in agreement with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Candidates must be licensed by the Ohio Department of Education (or transferable to Ohio) and possess the minimum of a master’s degree in educational administration, Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred, from an approved institution of higher learning. Candidates must have at least five years experience in the operation of elementary and/or secondary schools, preferably in a Catholic school system, as a principal or superintendent.
