Administrator Appointed for Child Protection Policy

               Bishop George V. Murry, S.J., Bishop of Youngstown, has appointed Dr. Thomas Sauline to   the position of Administrator of the Diocese of Youngstown Child Protection Policy, including safe environment coordinator and victim assistance coordinator, effective July 1, 2014. This appointment is in addition to his current position as a catechetical consultant for the Office of Religious Education.

            Dr. Sauline earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in biblical studies from the Anthenaeum of Ohio; and a Doctorate in Ministry from St. Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology in Wickliffe, Ohio, in May, 2014.

            Dr. Sauline began ministry in the Diocese of Youngstown in 1989. He is actively involved in ecumenical ministries, serving on the board of the Mahoning Valley Association of Churches and co-chairing the Lutheran-Catholic Dialog. He is diocesan liaison for the Loyola Institute of Ministry Extension program, and instructs facilitators in “Treasured Gifts from God,” the diocesan child protection in-service program. Additionally, he writes Scripturechat, an on-line reflection on the daily Scripture readings.
