This program of graduate ministry education is for lay, religious, and
ordained persons who are
engaged in Church ministry or for laity who want to
address themselves to their ministry in the world.

Loyola Institute for Ministry (LIM), in cooperation with church related sponsoring agencies
across theUnited States, Scotland, England, Belize, Canada, and Nigeria, responds to the
needs of ministry and education personnel who have limited access to Catholic educational
resources by offering on-site programs leading to the master of religious education and
master of pastoral studies degrees with focus areas in Christian spirituality for pastoral
ministers, pastoral life and administration, youth ministry, Hispanic ministry, religion and
ecology, marketplace ministry, digital ministry, and small Christian community formation.
LIM offers this same program of study for a noncredit continuing education certificate.

The core courses are taken in learning groups; each course is led by a Loyola certified
facilitator. Sessions for each course employ a learning design in which downloadable class
lectures and other required and suggested readings are correlated with the participant's
experience by means of reflective processes. Each session provides opportunities for
prayer, reflection and faith sharing based on the themes and graces of the Spiritual
Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Students also choose two additional online courses
in their focus area and two online electives.
