The Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a prayer service on Monday, July 25, 2016, in St. Columba Cathedral beginning at 7:00 p.m. followed by a reception in St. Columba Hall.  Monsignor Robert Siffrin will welcome the Knights of Columbus on behalf of Bishop Murry and lead the prayer service.

The prayer service is part of the “Pilgrimage of the Silver Rose”.  This project began in 1960 to promote devotion to the Blessed Mother, to promote the cause of Juan Diego to be recognized as a saint and to pray for respect of human life.  Juan Diego was declared a Saint in Mexico on July 31, 2002, by the late Pope John Paul II (now Saint John Paul II).  The silver rose is symbolic of the miraculous gift of flowers that Juan Diego brought to the local Bishop as a sign of his message from Mary.  The public is cordially invited to attend.
