Office of Development & Stewardship Annual Bishops Appeal | The Foundation | Charitable Estate Planning Stewardship: A Way of Life | Legal Titles & Purposes Manual The Office of Development & Stewardship encourages the Catholic people in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown to acknowledge the gifts entrusted to them by a loving God. It challenges Catholics to use their gifts in a responsible and accountable manner, to share them in justice and love with others, and to return them with increase to the Lord. The Office is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the Annual Bishop’s Appeal for Church and Charity. It encourages gifts of assets in support of the Church through prudent estate planning. The Office encourages gifts in perpetuity to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown Foundation. It provides educational services encouraging Christian Stewardship as a way of life and provides direction for parish and diocesan financial resource development. The Office of Development & Stewardship represents the Diocese of Youngstown as a member of the International Catholic Stewardship Council and supports its mission to foster an environment in which stewardship is understood, accepted, and practiced throughout the Roman Catholic Church. The Office of Development & Stewardship embraces and upholds the Code of Ethical Principles and the Standards of Professional Practice of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
