Hanni Jr., 82 A Mass of Christian Burial was offered July 21 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, for Attorney Don L. Hanni Jr., 82, who died July 16, at his home. Mr. Hanni was born on Aug. 25, 1925, in Youngstown, the son of Don and Josephine Amato Hanni, and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from East High School, received a bachelor’s degree in social studies and history and his law degree was from Youngstown College. Mr. Hanni made his career in law as a defense trial lawyer, serving as a Municipal Judge and as an Assistant City Prosecutor. He was very active in local politics and was the former Chairman of the Mahoning County Democratic Party, a member of the Mahoning County Bar Association, and founded the Riverboat Captains Club. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, Mr. Hanni served in the Normandy invasion and in active duty for two years in the European theater. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Francine LaCivita. Mr. Hanni leaves his children, Donald L. Hanni III, Keith M. Hanni, Robin K. Hanni, Attorney Mark A. Hanni, Attorney Heidi A.
