Notre Dame Sisters will celebrate jubilees July 14

The Sisters of Notre Dame will hold a celebration at 2 p.m. July 14 at the Notre Dame Educational Center in Chardon for members of the order who are observing major jubilees in religious life this year.

Four sisters will celebrate their 70th jubilee; six will celebrate their 65th; one will celebrate her 60th; five will celebrate their 50th and four will celebrate their 25th jubilee. Jesuit Father Thomas Radloff will be the celebrant, and Father Leonard Zamborsky will be the homilist. A reception will follow the liturgy.

The sisters whose biographical information appears below are those who entered religious life from the Diocese of Youngstown or who worked in the diocese, or both. Each of the sisters also had assignments in the Cleveland Diocese, but the information presented here highlights their connection with the Diocese of Youngstown.

70th Jubilee
Sister Mary Luke Arntz entered the Sisters of Notre Dame on Feb. 21, 1930, from St. Peter Parish, Canton. She is now retired and residing at the Provincial House Health Care Center in Chardon.

Sister Mary Clementin Eichler entered the Sisters of Notre Dame from St. Joseph Parish, Randolph, on Feb. 2, 1930. She was a primary school teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary School, Harrisburg; St. Aloysius, East Liverpool; and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Youngstown. She is now retired and residing at the Provincial House Health Care Center.

Sister Mary Geraldine Geiss, the former Sister Mary Eulalia entered the Sisters of Notre Dame from St. Angela Merici Parish, Fairview Park, on July 2, 1929. She served in food service at St. Mary, Massillon; and St. Joseph, Youngstown. She is now retired and residing at the Provincial House Health Care Center.

65th Jubilee
Sister Mary Monica Schmitt entered the Sisters of Notre Dame on Feb. 2, 1935, from St. Peter Parish, Cleveland. She taught at St. Mary/JFK High School in Warren. She tutors at Notre Dame Skills Lab, Chardon.

Sister Mary Lucille Sennes, formerly Sister Mary Rosine entered the Sisters of Notre Dame from St. Mary Parish, Warren on Feb. 2, 1935. She taught at St. Mary, Massillon; St. Joseph, Youngstown; St. Michael, Canton; Immaculate Heart of Mary, Youngstown; and St. Mary Parish, Warren. She is now the assistant to the coordinator of Retreat Centers at Notre Dame Provincial Center.

Sister Mary Jeanine Stosik entered the Notre Dame Community on Sept. 9, 1934, from St. Mary Parish, Warren. She taught at St. Mary Parish, Massillon; and St. Mary Parish, Warren. She is currently assisting in the Community Office at the Provincial Center.

Sister Mary Julianne Toth entered the Sisters of Notre Dame on Feb. 2, 1935, from St. Benedict Parish, Cleveland. She was a primary teacher at St. Aloysius, East Liverpool; St. James, Warren; and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Youngstown. She is now retired and residing at the Provincial Center Health Care Center.

60th Jubilee
Sister Mary Carmelita Wagner entered the Notre Dame Community on Feb. 2, 1940, from St. Clement Parish, Navarre. She was in food service and primary teaching at St. Mary, Warren; St. Peter, Canton; and St. Joseph, Youngstown. She is the sacristan at the Provincial Center.

50th Jubilee
Sister Mary Chrisara Fishley entered the Sister of Notre Dame from St. Louis Parish, Cleveland, on Sept. 8, 1949. She was an intermediate grade teacher at St. Mary, Massillon; and teacher/principal at St. James, Warren. She is now a driver for the sisters at the Provincial Center.

Sister Mary Zeno Lemmerman entered the community from St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Cleveland, on Feb. 2, 1950. She taught intermediate grades at St. Mary, Massillon; and St. Aloysius, East Liverpool. She is now tutoring at Notre Dame Skills Lab.

Sister Annamarie Meluck entered the Notre Dame Community from St. Gregory Parish, South Euclid, on Feb. 2, 1950. She taught primary grades at St. Michael, Canton. She assists in the Community Office at the Provincial Center.

Sister Mary Theresa Sullivan, formerly Sister Mary Donell, entered the Sisters of Notre Dame on Sept. 8, 1949, from St. Jerome Parish, Cleveland. She was an intermediate grade teacher at St. Mary, Warren. She is now the assistant to the provincial secretary at the Provincial Center.

Sister Mary Rose Anne Webb entered the community on Sept. 8, 1949, from Immaculate Conception Parish, Cleveland. She was an intermediate grade teacher at St. Joseph, Youngstown; St. Mary, Massillon; St. Aloysius, East Liverpool and St. Peter, Canton. Sister is now the technology coordinator at St. Justin Martyr School, Eastlake.
